SACRAMENTO – The California Climate Investments program marks 10 years of comprehensive investments in strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including building the nation’s first high speed rail, supporting wildland restoration efforts to suppress wildfires, building affordable housing near job centers and placing zero-emissions transportation options in underserved communities. The Governor’s Office and state agency leads will discuss a new report on the program and an overview of the program’s impact.

California Climate Investments is a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.

CARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. CARB is the lead agency for climate change programs and oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health-based air quality standards.
